Sylvan Paul's

Shamelessly pilfering rock’n’roll history, Sylvan Paul’s music is like a broken time machine (whose operator may or may not have taken a tab or two). Past and present collide to form a wavering image of the future, where powerful electronic production fuses seamlessly with gooey guitars, retro drums, and a signature baritone.

A New York City native, Sylvan’s entry into music was through the guitar. He became immersed in the city’s wild nightlife in his teens though, and got the electronic music bug. By 16, he was DJing around the city and learning to produce. His work caught the attention of NYC house legend Todd Terry, and he got some buzz in the underground house and techno scene. By 22 though, the nonstop party life had consumed him and he needed to get sober. As he settled into recovery, his relationship to music shifted, and his ear began wandering back to guitar. Bringing this new inspiration to his experience as a dance music producer, a unique sound emerged. He launched the Sylvan Paul project in 2020 and gained a following with a slew of independent releases, signing with NYC cult electronic label Wolf + Lamb a year later. His releases received support from DJ Harvey, Crazy P, and Life On Planets, and frequent air-play from KCRW tastemakers Travis Holcomb and Jason Bentley. In 2023, he signed with electronic mega-label Ultra Records (Sony), and following 3 singles across the year, put out a 4 Track EP ‘Things That Go Fast’ at the top of 2024. He is currently finishing up his debut album, ’Music To Die’, which will release in 2025.
