Raleigh Music to Publish Platinum-Selling Record Artist and Producer Tarro
Raleigh Music Publishing is excited to announce the signing of Platinum record-winning artist and producer Tarro to a multi-year music publishing deal.
First finding inspiration in the limitless possibilities of electronically generated sound as a teenager, David James Ramos p.ka. Tarro is a producer currently based in Los Angeles. Now 24, the Southern California native has built a name for himself one track at a time. Through a limited yet organically growing discography, Tarro has amassed millions of streams across platforms since making his prolific debut, looking to each song he produces as an opportunity to share another piece of his story.
While audiences may recognize Tarro from his collaborative work specifically, such as through high-profile remixes for artists such as blackbear, THEY. and Tinashe (2020's "Touch and Go" featuring 6lack), his catalog of original solo releases command attention in their own right, showcasing the mercurial, well-rounded nature of his artistry. As a producer, Tarro's sonic palette draws from a diverse array of influences, ranging from the genre-blurring alternative side of contemporary R&B and pop to the classic country, soul and electronic acts that soundtracked his upbringing.
In 2016, after seeing blackbear perform live for the first time, Tarro released his remix of the Florida artist's hit single "idfc" on SoundCloud, fully anticipating the song to be removed for copyright infringement. Instead, the remix went viral and captured the attention of blackbear himself, leading the two to develop a friendship and become frequent collaborators. The "idfc" remix saw an official release and has since garnered over 255 million plays across platforms. Before he turned 21, Tarro's production for blackbear's 2017 album digital druglord ("Chateau" and "I Miss the Old U") earned him his first plaques after the project was certified platinum by the RIAA.
"Working with Tarro and his team over the last few years has been nothing short of exceptional. I look forward to building on the momentum we've created and continuing to make timeless records," said Raleigh Music Director A&R Ben O'Connell.
"I'm excited for this next chapter of my career, while having a team that believes in what I'm doing as much as I do. Growing with Raleigh Music will be a great journey ahead," said Tarro.
