
Sandy Wilbur
Sandy Wilbur is a composer / producer with well over 40 songs recorded and five chart singles to her credit. Her hits include “Hit ‘n Run Lover,” performed by Carol Jiani (a worldwide hit of the ‘80’s which is found in numerous compilations and one feature film) and “The Woman In Me,” among others. Her songs and collaborations cover a wide range of styles from Pop, R&B, Folk, Country, Hip-Hop, and Patriotic anthems and she has created a program for grades K-8 entitled “Learning History Through Music” with songs designed to educate, inspire and entertain. “We The People,” her first in the series, has well over 1 million hits on YouTube.
She also wrote and produced hundreds of jingles and scores for TV and radio for clients, including Proctor & Gamble, AT&T, Coors, Wendy's, Hardees, Tyco, Schlitz and UNICEF, among others. Some of the many recording artists she produced, who sang her jingles, include: Kool and the Gang, Lee Greenwood, Luther Vandross, Marc Cohn, Teddy Pendergrass, Tony Bennett, The Drifters, The Four Tops, The Platters, Average White Band, Dr. Hook, The Gap Band, Millie Jackson, Skyy, Patty Austin, and Kermit the Frog, among others. Her awards include CLIO, N.Y. International Film Festival, and two ASCAP awards.
In addition, she is also a forensic musicologist who has testified as an expert in music copyright cases including the “Blurred Lines” v Marvin Gaye case on the side of Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke. In that capacity, she also worked with the Coen Brothers and T-Bone Burnett, researching all the songs for the film and Grammy winning soundtrack album “O Brother Where Art Thou.”
